The Nusnäs Knife used to carve Dala horses

The Woodcarving Knife 105 (LC) is a popular whittling knife among carvers in the village of Nusnäs, where the Dala horse is made. This is a larger carving knife with a total length of 205 mm, an 84 mm blade, and a shaped birch handle with a finger guard. The laminated carbon steel provides excellent toughness that withstands lateral pressure.

For detail work and decorative wood carving

The longer blade, larger handle, and full rat-tail tang running through the handle provide good stability and control. The tapered blade offers precision for detailed carving.

Larger carving knife with a better grip

The robust handle in Scandinavian birch has a finger guard that provides a safe and comfortable grip. You can carve the handle for an even better fit. The knife comes with a plastic sheath.

Laminated carbon steel that withstands lateral pressure

The 2.7 mm thick and 84 mm long blade is made from French laminated carbon steel (100CR6). The carbon steel core is surrounded by softer steel, giving the knife excellent edge retention and toughness. The blade reaches a hardness of 58.5 HRC and has a polished surface that protects against rust, but should always be wiped and oiled after use.
