The Hook Knife 164 (Left) features a 55 mm right-ground blade designed for left-handed carvers. The blade’s tight curve is perfect for carving scoops, bowls, and deeper hollows. The stainless steel holds its edge well and is easy to maintain. The knife has a full rat-tail tang for strength and stability, and a comfortable barrel-shaped Scandinavian birch handle.
With its right-ground edge, this knife is designed to carve towards you when held in the right hand. The tight curve is ideal for carving scoops or deep bowls. Since the back of the blade is unsharpened, you can use your right-hand fingers to push the blade from behind.
The barrel-shaped birch handle fits comfortably in the hand, regardless of carving technique or grip, even during extended use. It comes with a sheath made from Swedish vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö.
The 2 mm thick, 55 mm long blade is made from Swedish stainless steel (12C27) with over 80% recycled content and a hardness of 56.5 HRC. The steel is durable, holds its edge for a long time, and requires minimal maintenance.
The knife is assembled and heat-treated at our factory in Mora, Sweden, with 135 years of knife-making tradition.
