Whistleblowing

At Morakniv , we strive to have an open work climate and high business ethics. We shall be a safe workplace with a safe and reliable corporate culture that strives to run the company in a long-term and sustainable way. We are therefore committed to ensuring that any irregularities that could seriously harm the business or our employees are detected and investigated as early as possible. That is why we have a whistleblowing service to which employees can report irregularities.

What is the whistleblowing service?

Whistleblowing is when a person with an inside view of the company brings to the attention of management suspicions of serious wrongdoing that could affect Morakniv's operations or the life or health of an individual. It is important to reduce risks and to maintain the trust of customers and the public in us. A whistleblowing case may primarily concern key employees or persons in management positions, but anyone can be reported.

In the first instance, employees who suspect an irregularity are encouraged to speak to a manager. If the employee does not feel comfortable talking to their manager, they can report the matter here on the whistleblowing site. You can remain anonymous here if you wish.

What can be reported?

The whistleblowing service is to be used to report suspicions of serious misconduct that may affect Morakniv's operations or the life or health of an individual. Examples of whistleblowing cases;

  • Financial crime such as bribery, fraud, theft, corruption, embezzlement or data breaches
  • Deliberate false accounting, internal accounting controls or other financial crime
  • Major shortcomings in workplace safety
  • Serious environmental crimes
  • Serious forms of discrimination and harassment
  • Other serious misconduct affecting the vital interests of the undertaking

How is a notification made?

When suspicions or concerns arise, you can in the first instance contact your line manager. The responsible manager can help you assess whether the offense should be escalated depending on its severity, how sensitive the matter is considered to be, and who is suspected of the offense. If you do not feel comfortable contacting your line manager, you can report as follows:

In writing via the form on this page

This channel can also be used to remain anonymous. Access to messages received via the whistleblowing function is limited to individuals in the whistleblowing group. If necessary, individuals with specialized knowledge of the case can be included in the whistleblowing group. All reports are treated confidentially.
The whistleblowing team is: CFO (Chief Administrative Officer) and CPSO (Chief People and Sustainability Officer)

Orally

Notifications can also be made through a physical meeting. If someone wishes to request a face-to-face meeting to make a notification of facts, a request can be made through the online form, by phone or by letter. The person wishing to request a face-to-face meeting will need to provide their contact details so that we can contact them to arrange a meeting. Please note that anonymity cannot be promised if the reporting is done through a face-to-face meeting.

Response process

Once a case is received, the Whistleblowing Team decides whether the case should be accepted as a misconduct under the Whistleblowing Policy. In order to assess whether the case qualifies as whistleblowing, the Whistleblowing Team starts an initial investigation and thoroughly examines the issue. If a case involves a member of the whistleblowing team, the case is handled and investigated by an external party.

All whistleblowing communications and related investigations are treated confidentially by all parties involved. Depending on the nature of the case, the matter will either be investigated internally or referred to the police or other external investigation.

Within seven days, the whistleblowing team will get back to the person who reported the incident with a response (during holiday periods or other extended leaves, the seven-day deadline cannot be guaranteed).
