Color of the Year 2025
Close to the bustling streets of Mora, lake Siljan stretches out like a shimmering blue pearl in the heart of Dalarna. By the boathouses along Siljan’s clear blue waters, you are greeted by fresh winds carrying the scent of tar in a beautiful landscape, where dala red cottages extend as far as the eye can see. Throughout the ages, this region has preserved craft traditions passed down through generations of settlers. Here, you find a sense of coming home that is hard to describe but easy to feel.

Since 2016, the Color of the Year concept has been an important part of our product line, created to add a personal touch to artisan knives in an otherwise function-based and often color-coded market. This initiative has not only provided a unique visual identity but also a sense of individuality, where color reflects both style and function.
A few years ago, we decided to further develop the concept by drawing inspiration from the culture, craftsmanship, and color palette of our hometown, Mora. Dalarna has a rich history of color and design, most notably in the iconic kurbits painting and traditional folk costumes, which symbolize craftsmanship, nature, and tradition. We wanted to honor this heritage by incorporating these colors into the concept to further strengthen the connection to our roots.
